FAQs
About our teas
Where do you get your tea?
We source our teas exclusively from family-owned gardens in Taiwan and Japan that prioritize environmental care and social responsibility. With over a century of family heritage in oolong cultivation and trade, we’ve built deep relationships with farmers to bring you the finest teas at a fair price.
What is loose leaf tea?
Loose leaf tea is tea that’s not packed in bags — typically made from whole, unbroken leaves for richer aroma and flavor. It offers a more authentic, full-bodied experience compared to traditional teabags.
What is a tea sachet?
Tea sachets provide an easy brewing experience. Unlike commercial tea bags that use dusted teas, our pyramid tea sachets are filled with premium loose leaf teas, giving you convenience without sacrificing quality.
Plus, our sachets are 100% biodegradable, so you can simply compost them after use.
What is tea powder? Is it the same as matcha?
Not exactly.
In Japanese, matcha (抹茶) means “ground tea,” traditionally made by stone-grinding shade-grown green tea leaves into a fine powder. Inspired by this, we source premium whole tea leaves from Taiwan — including oolong, green, and black teas — and carefully grind them into fine tea powders under low temperatures to preserve their aroma and flavor.
Each one offers a new way to enjoy Taiwanese tea — smooth, vibrant, and versatile. Simply whisk with your favorite milk for a delicious tea latte.
What is Teappo Reserve?
Teappo Reserve is our esteemed collection of loose leaf teas celebrated for their exquisite flavor profiles and unparalleled craftsmanship — available only in limited quantities. While Teappo is never about expensive teas, some rare and remarkable harvests simply cost more to produce. This collection honors those exceptional teas — crafted with extra care, offering a truly elevated tasting experience for those who appreciate something special.
Care & brew
How should I store my tea?
Store your tea in an airtight container, away from sunlight, heat, and moisture. Proper storage keeps it fresh and flavorful for months.
How do I brew teas?
Brewing tea is an art. You’ll find brewing guidance on each tea’s product page and on the packaging — use it as a starting point to discover your own perfect way of enjoying tea.
How many times can I brew?
For loose leaf teas and tea sachets, you can usually brew 2–3+ times. For example, one regular-size bag of Osmanthus Oolong tea with 24 servings can yield up to 72 cups of tea.
How much caffeine is in tea?
Most of our teas have low to medium caffeine levels, while matcha and tea powders tend to have slightly higher caffeine (medium level). We also offer caffeine-free options.
Generally, a cup of tea contains less caffeine than coffee, and thanks to L-theanine, a natural amino acid, the caffeine is absorbed more gently, giving you steady focus without the crash.
